PUNCH - Devlog (Week 4)
Adding new features!
This weeks achievements:
During this week, we got to the point where about everything we made in the prototyping stage was implemented better and cleaner.
- Punchable block behaviour (break if it hits another block, breaks if block falls on top of it)
- Bomb block: explodes a short time after the player punched it, killing nearby players.
- The player dies when he gets thrown off the map or a block falls on his head.
The rest of the week, we started implementing new features:
- Blocks roll off edge
- Easily expandable pickup system
- Pickupspawners which can be put in the levelgenerator.
- PowerGlove pickup: players punch blocks and other players twice as hard! They can also punch back blocks that were punched by other players.
- ShieldDome pickup: a shield around the player reflects all incoming blocks punched by other players! (A block can still fall on their head)
- Dynamic water around level (placeholder texture)
Art:
We got our first models! They yet have to be added into the build, but that's gonna happen really soon!
Plans for the coming weeks:
- Implementing more pickups
- Player crush between blocks
- Camera behaviour (shakes & dynamic zooming)
- Implementing models & animations
- Implementing the classic gamemode, which means different rounds, a point system and a winner at the end!
Stay tuned for more...
