PUNCH - Final Devlog

We're finally here. It is done!

We're happy to announce PUNCH is finished!

Some final touches we added:

  • Amazing laser particle
  • Customizable point goal instead of set number of rounds
  • A shadow crane that moves over the level to indicate where pickup blocks will land
  • Extra camera effects when an explosion happens (chromatic abberation, color grading)
  • Blocks spawn at the start of the level so it isnt empty
  • Loading screens
  • Extra sound effects (Menu, laser, explosion, ...)
  • Post-processing
  • Victory animation
  • Pickup placement refined
  • Dynamic block spawnrate based on the amount of blocks in the level
  • Added textures for team selection
  • UI Improvements
  • New player icons/thumbnails (character selection and HUD)
  • Refined haptic feedback (controller vibration)
  • Rebalancing (air time for player punch, traps, ...)
  • Lots of bugfixes...

A summary of the game:

  • Starting from the main menu, the player can choose to start playing, configure options or get some useful info in the help menu


  • Options: configurable sound volume (master, FX, music)
  • Help: info about controls and the game
  • When the player presses start, they can configure the game settings:
    • Gamemode: Standard(FFA), 2VS2 and Payback (permanent powerglove pickup)
    • Point goal: 3 - 5 -10 (first to reach X amount of points wins)
    • Character select / Team select
  • When the player confirms the settings, a loading screen with some useful info will appear on the screen until the scene is loaded.


  • Once the scene is loaded, the fun begins!

  • Players can punch blocks, punch each other, pick up and use items in order to win a round.
  • Last man/team standing  earns a point.
  • The first to reach the point goal wins!
